The last major project I worked on before moving to Richmond, besides the Flash redesign of the company's own web site, was the Flash underpinnings of a site that was actually designed, for the most part, by Bonnie Smith, who Josh hired as a designer as business expanded.
     Bonnie was constrained in some aspects by the client's requirements. For example, they were particular about the fonts, and they supplied us with architectural renderings that we were able to work into our design. Bonnie and I created the overall look and feel of the site, consulting with me on what we could and could not do with Flash. After we had finalized the look, it was up to me to make sure the various Flash code behind the scenes made it all run smoothly.

     By far, this was the most complex site I had attempted with Flash, as the clients wanted a video window, fading images, in addition to less showy things, like an e-mail form. In order to match the site's aesthetic, I made the e-mail form with Flash as well, so I had to learn how to interface Flash with the PHP code that underpins all of the sites that Emercy designed.

    One of the great things about working at Emercy was the way we were all able to collaborate on projects, and while Brandon's main forté was XHTML and PHP, he was also invaluable in helping me integrate my Flash Actionscript with his PHP programming.
